Zéro de conduite is een themaprogramma gewijd aan pop/cultuur op Radio Centraal in Antwerpen. Elke eerste zaterdag van de maand, van 6 tot 8 uur ’s avonds. Stem af op Radio Centraal 106.7 FM: uniek in een universum met een schrikbarende toename van het aantal zwarte gaten. Het motto van deze show is walk in silence / don’t walk away in silence (Atmosphere).

Vorige maand hielden de vogels ons gezelschap, vandaag blijven we op de begane grond. Het is zaterdag, midzomer: stel je een club voor, een plek waar gedanst wordt. De songs die ik heb gekozen zijn voor de DJ die daar draait en voor de dansers.
Om deze selectie te maken heb ik me laten leiden door woorden van Sam Cooke uit zijn Good Times: It might be one o’clock and it might be three / Time don’t mean that much to me / I haven’t felt this good since I don’t know when / And I might not feel this good again. Je zou dat kunnen vertalen als pluk de dag.
Dat soort Good Times, ook wel levenslust genoemd, trof ik onder meer aan in rhythm and blues, soul en motown, sixties pop, afrobeat, samba en bossa nova, cubaanse twang, jazz en funk. En ik heb – voor een keer – niet eens lang moeten zoeken.
Deze aflevering van Zéro de conduite is opnieuw op voorhand opgenomen. Met dit vervloekte virus kunnen we niet voorzichtig genoeg zijn. En stel je voor dat alle daytrippers die gisteren het station van Oostende onveilig maakten vandaag naar Antwerpen trekken… Ingeblikt is niet hetzelfde als vers, maar het is een valabel alternatief. Wel jammer dat je mijn zachte stem moet missen, maar later zal ik mijn schade inhalen, al komt er stilaan wat sleet op.
In werkelijkheid is het nog vroeg voor de dansvloer, maar stel je gewoon voor dat het al middernacht is, dat lukt wel. Kijk, er is nog plaats om te dansen en de muziek is groovy. So, come on baby, let the good times roll. Verzorg je goed en blijf gezond.
