Zéro de conduite is een POPprogramma op Radio Centraal in Antwerpen. Elke eerste zaterdag van de maand, van 6 tot 8 ’s avonds. Een muzikaal evenement voor allen en voor niemand. Uniek in het universum. Stem af op 106.7 FM.

Alles is taal wordt gezegd. De wereld en alles wat het geval is kun je lezen; het universum is een boek met ontelbare letters en cijfers gevuld. Taal is een ernstig spel. Elke taal lijkt op elke andere taal en toch is het zo moeilijk om elkaar te begrijpen. Stel je voor: in India worden 30 talen door meer dan een miljoen en 122 talen door meer dan 10.000 mensen gesproken. De sneeuwwoordenmythe van de Eskimo’s is genoegzaam bekend en er zit zeker een grond van waarheid in. Als we echter lang genoeg zoeken vinden we in het Nederlands wellicht evenveel uitdrukkingen voor sneeuw. Hoeveel het er bij de Eskimo’s precies zijn weet niemand. Volgens Kate Bush vijftig, maar waarschijnlijk heeft ze naar boven afgerond.
Van in het begin is Engels de taal van rock & roll, of toch van die vorm ervan waarmee wij het meest vertrouwd zijn. Dat gegeven bepaalt niet alleen de selectie van de songs voor vanavond, maar voor bijna elke thematische aflevering van Zéro de conduite. In absolute termen is dat jammer, maar anderzijds is het goed dat er zo’n beperking is, want anders raak je er niet uit. Het is nu al zo moeilijk om geliefde songs te schrappen. Niet dat ik daarover wil klagen. Laten we het een prettige vorm van moeilijk noemen. Maar goed, we laten nu songschrijvers, zangeressen, zangers en groepen aan het woord over taal.
