Misschien nooit meer een themaprogramma, dacht ik vorige maand. Goed dat er ‘misschien’ in de zin stond. Want ik ben in de oude zonde hervallen: ik heb opnieuw voor een thema gekozen. Bij de voorbereiding van deze aflevering voelde ik me opeens helemaal verloren, zo zonder dat vertrouwde houvast. Ik las in de commentaren bij mijn playlist van vorige maand dat het beter is op je intuïtie of gevoel af te gaan dan op je verstand. Maar ik heb vastgesteld dat ik zonder de ratio aan het dolen ga, wat op zich niet slecht is, maar ik zal moeten aan wennen zulke zwerftochten. Bovendien houd ik enorm van thema’s. Van het thema van deze maand, MIND, houd ik zoveel dat ik aanvankelijk acht uur muziek had, en alle songs waren goed. Heel moeilijk om dan te gaan snoeien. Het is een harde wereld. Mogelijk breng ik volgende maand een tweede MIND. Maar ik doe geen beloften meer, vandaar dat ‘mogelijk’. (Hoe dan ook blijven de concepten ‘sfeer’ en ‘stemming’ overeind: daar moet de volgorde van de songs voor zorgen.)
Ik geloof dat ik voor vandaag al een behoorlijke selectie heb gemaakt en hoop dat jullie er opnieuw van kunnen genieten.
