ZERO DE CONDUITE: VROUWEN

Vanavond maken we in Zéro de conduite plaats voor het rijk der vrouw. Het is niet de eerste keer dat in dit radioprogramma aandacht wordt besteed aan meisjes en vrouwen. Zo zijn er al meerdere afleveringen geweest waarin uitsluitend zangeressen aan bod kwamen en ik herinner me ook nog een mooie uitzending over ‘girls’. Er bestaan natuurlijk miljoenen songs over meisjes en vrouwen, wellicht omdat er nog altijd meer mannelijke dan vrouwelijke songschrijvers rondlopen. Dat maakt een selectie moeilijk, maar een mens moet hard zijn in dit leven. Toch is voor iemand die graag vrouwen ziet, en ik bedoel nu niet François Truffaut, elke keuze een goede keuze.

Het is me opgevallen hoeveel uitstekende songs the Velvet Underground – meer bepaald Lou Reed – aan vrouwen heeft gewijd. Vandaar de kleine tribute aan de beste band ooit, zij het via de omweg van covers. Want de originele versies heeft iedereen al duizenden keren gehoord.
